Rail-Blue Charters' like to try and utilise electric locomotives where possible for as they are (a) powerful and quick and (b) very environmentally friendly! However, we do realise that we do need to use a range of different locomotives, electric and diesel.

We operate with a number of train operators to deliver a diversity of charter train requirements.  We operate with West Coast Railway Company who have their own fleet of diesel locomotives that can haul all our trains as well as DB Schenker, who can offer us compatable diesel and electric locomotives. We will also soon start using Direct Rail Services traction.

We use a number of privately owned electric and diesel locomotives. Electric Traction Limited (ETL) specialise in electric locomotives. Their locomotives are able to operate at up to 110mph which works perfectly with the MkIII carriages we have.
