To help those of you still wondering about availability, tickets, pay on the day etc, here we go...
From Tuesday 22nd December to Sunday 27th Sunday, the office is closed. You can contact us by e-mail (bookings@rail-bluecharters.co.uk), by leaving a message on our voice mail on 0161-850 0559 or faxing on 0845-051 8771 (preferably by using the booking form from our website).
For information on tickets or new bookings, please note the following:
All booking requests received by Monday 21st December have been processed: if you have not received a ticket (by post or e-mail) and you have sent us a request, please contact us via the above means. The office is open today (time of writing 28th December). Please note however that postal applications might not have received us before Monday 21st December and thus we might only be able to process those on Monday 28th December. If so, we won't have forgotten you, bear with us and we'll deal with it!
If you have not booked yet, please leave your contact details via one of the above means and we will try to accommodate seats for you on Monday 28th December. It is best to call the office on Monday 28th December. However, it would be extremely helpful that you have an e-mail contact as otherwise, we have no way of getting a ticket to you to print off. As a last resort, you can leave us a mobile number so we can forward you a seating number and on boarding the train we will give you a ticket. Any other means might not guarantee a seat.
Finally, we have managed to put aside a small group of seats in first and standard class for potential pay on the day travellers. However, please note that these are very limited so it really is first come first served. We can not guarantee a seat, or a seat in the travel class of your preference. If seats are left, please note we can accept payment in cash, cheque and debit/credit card on the day.
Please also note that Barrow Hill depot will be open from 03.00 on Wednesday morning. Please follow stewards' advice for parking and please park up quickly - we need to get you aboard as quickly as possible.
We've also been asked if a quick photo-call is possible before departure from Barrow Hill. We'll look at it, but we can't promise anything. We'll let you know.
Finally, the Class 20's will be at the first class end of the train for the entire day. The train will draw back down the branch at Barrow Hill, using the Class 47 as motive power. The Class 20s will then draw forward out of Barrow Hill.
See you on the day
